Got My Tickets for Viva 14!
I am so, so excited! I got off my lazy bum and finally bought my tickets for Viva Las Vegas 14! I have NEVER been and this will be my first venue! I know many of you gals are going and I hope to have the opportunity to meet some of you! I am just too stoked! Yay!
I totally agree!!! We vintage bloggers so NEED to do a meet up! I am getting very excited! All I need to do is teach the man to dance, get some new Hawaiian wear, and work on getting my figure ready! So fun!!
I'm so excited to hear that you are going! My man can't dance either, and he has absolutely no intention of learning. Not sure what I'm going to dress him in either, LOL! Now that it's March, I feel like it's going to be here before we know it!
woo hoo! We bought ours last month- where do you plan on staying ? We stayed at the Flamingo last year and it was fantastic, this year we lucked out on a super deal at the very swank new Cosmopolitan. Decided to go in style this year! I'm so excited!!
This will be my forth trip to Vegas. I stayed at the Tropicana the first time, then the Caesars, and then the JW Marriott in Summerlin. I have not been back since March 2010. I cannot wait! I think the man and I will stay at the Rio or maybe the new Aria. Along with the Viva activities, I want to see Penn and Teller's show at the Rio. I also want to do some shopping at the MAC Pro Store in the Caesars Forum Shops.
I plan on pacing myself. The first year I was in Vegas, 2003, I partied a little too much! I learned my lesson and the next two visits were much better! I want to dance, shop, meet people, get some sun, and eat! I enjoy the occasional drink but at 35, I am not much into party-like-crazy anymore! I want to be sure to take it all in while being kind to myself! lol
Well since i live here (in vegas) i can reccomend some decent shopping places that i go to pretty frequently.
Calo Style on Las Vegas Blvd. A vintage store that specializes in rockabilly, & vintage clothing.Im friends with the owner and ill see on hooking you up with the discount! :)
Buffalo Exchange on Tropicana. Ive found some decent pieces there and they are very affordable.
I am all for planning a blogger meet-up! There are so many activities and events, and there will be so many people in attendance that it seems like the best way to guarantee any of us run into each other at all!
Note: As of 1-22-11, My blog, "Betty's Vintage Musings," is now "The DC Metro Retro."
I was born in the mid-70s in Richmond, Virginia to two fabulous European-born parents. My Norwegian father father taught me to be intelligent and kind, while my Irish mother instilled a sense of fierce strength and independence. Growing up in the 80s, my friends pined for Poison tickets and Guess jeans yet I loved The Cure and wanted vintage wool cardigans and black satin bullet bras. I prided myself on standing apart from the mainstream and having the "audacity" to think for myself.
So, here I am, 15-20 years later. I am still in vintage and still questioning everything. I went to college, got married, and earned a Master's Degree. I am a linguist, artist, amateur makeup artist, and business owner. Yet no matter what my job title is or what style I wear, the one thing that matters to me the most is to be kind to everyone.
Fight for what you believe in, family and friends come first, and use logic and reason always.
OMG OMG OMG. ****Jumping up and down*****

Yay. Okay, we must have a blogger meet and greet with lots of photos. :)
