So, I have a question for you gals! Of all the makeup you have, what is the ONE item you cannot be without?
I, for one, cannot live without vintage red lipstick! I have to have my brows tinted and mascara on at all times but if I had to pick one thing, I would be lipstick hands-down.
I would love to hear your thoughts!

I don't really wear makeup, but I'm a total nail polish addict. Maybe that still counts as makeup! :)
ReplyDeleteBy necessity rather than choice, I use blusher every day. Otherwise I look like a sallow ghoul.
ReplyDeleteBetty2Tone,
ReplyDeleteI love nail polish too and it totally counts as makeup! I prefer bright shades of red, ie vintage red. I just wish it stays on my nails longer! It chips like crazy on me!
Penny,
ReplyDeleteI can relate about "necessity" versus "choice." I have naturally pale blond eyebrows that totally disappear on my pale skin. I get mine tinted and waxed every 5-6 weeks and I use MAC's brow marker between appointments to maintain color and shape. When my brows fade, I look odd and I feel undone. As for choice, it is red lipstick all the way. No other color will do!
I've been wearing mostly mauve/red/burgundy colors latley but I'll always be a sucker for blues, black, and anything with glitter.
ReplyDeleteI've got to have lippy...can't go out without it!x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely red lipstick, but having blond brows and lashes means I can't go without brow pencil or mascara either! I always joke that my face doesn’t have any expression unless I color in my brows :-)
ReplyDeleteConcealer and minerals powder foundation. They are my staples, even if I dont wear anything else. Brows and lips next but you can't beat some good old eyebag concealer! :)
ReplyDeleteBetty2Tone,
ReplyDeleteI have a few blues that I love too! I loved OPI Ink but it chips like mad! I so want to try the much-heralded Rescue Beauty Lounge colors but they are 18 USD a pop! I heard they recently had a 50% off website sale and I missed it! Ahhh!
Ivy Black,
ReplyDeleteI agree that lipstick is the win! My day is incomplete without it! I even admit that I run in it! I work out with lipstick on! Sad but true! lol!
Amanda,
ReplyDeleteMy fellow pale brow gal in arms! lol! You have to get them tinted! Once you do, you life WILL change! I cannot be without tinted and waxed brows!! Lipstick is part of me but brows are vital!
makeup? what's that? the only thing I have to have everyday is Oil of Olay moisturizer. I gave up wearing makeup several years ago due to to eye allergies.
ReplyDeleteClare,
ReplyDeleteI can relate about the "eyebag concealer!" Lol! That is brilliant! Love it! Hahaha!
I have very pale Irish skin with a blue-pink undertone and like my mum and aunties, my undereye area always looks blue! I look like I have been in a boxing ring, even after a good night's sleep! I depend on MAC's studio finish concealer (spf 35) in NC15. I use a NW15 on my skin to mask spots but the NC range is more yellow-based and it cancels out the blue well.
Pixie,
ReplyDeleteI often wish I did not have to wear foundation! My skin is in the early stages of Rosacea and I still get acne so I rely on good quality foundation and powder. I am sorry to hear that you have eye allergies! My best friend suffers from the same thing!
Just one??? Thats impossible! I'm way too high maintenance to use just one!! But if I were stuck on a deserted island it would have to be my Rosebud Salve. I can't stand dry lips!!! Plus, it doubles as a moisturizer :-)
ReplyDeleteHolly,
ReplyDeleteI agree! I have to have red lipstick, mascara, and brow color at all times! Red lipstick is an obsession of mine!
I love Rosebud Salve! I recently found it in a squeeze slant tube at Sephora! No more having to worry with a tin! I use Rosebud on my lips and it's great as a cuticle moisturizer in the winter! I never to go Colorado without it! Even the husband likes it for his hands! The mountain air is so drying and cold therefore it can wreak havoc on skin and particularly the cuticles! We massage in onto our nails and cuticles before bed and wake up to salvaged hands (only to dry them out again!)
I cannot be without undereye concealer! My family is Italian and I have inherited awesome undereye discoloration/bags. It's generational, so no use crying about it, but I am thankful for my MAC studiofix!
ReplyDeleteNicole,
ReplyDeleteI agree that undereye concealer is a MUST! I have conceded and made peace with my "blue eye bags!" MAC studio finish in NC15 is great for pale girls. The yellow base of the NC range helps correct blue tones well! I also like that the concealer is spf 35! Studio Fix is amazing too! I wear studio fix in N3 during the summer and I wear MAC Pro Longwear in the winter.
I often go out with only my MAC Ruby Woo. But I'm starting to feel the need to do more every day. (undereye concealer, brows etc). I'd love if you did an eyebrow tutorial.
ReplyDeleteFalse eyelashes...hands down, my eyes are my best feature and I need the long lashes to frame them!
ReplyDeleteRed lipstick for sure! I'm quite pale but tend to have a naturally rosy complexion, my eyelashes are quite long and dark, too...but I need red lips or I don't feel quite myself!
ReplyDelete-Andi x
Lipstick! I feel so drab without it.
ReplyDeleteMary,
ReplyDeleteI love Ruby Woo! I have "Back to MAC" for it several times! It is kind of drying so I do not wear it everyday.
As for an eyebrow tutorial, I would like to show what getting eye brow tinting is like. I get mine done every 5-6 weeks at my local salon. It is such a time saver!
Kim,
ReplyDeleteFalse eyelashes are cool! There so many kinds out there now! I just wish I knew how to put them on! I have tried a couple of times but they always look wonky, do not go on correctly, etc. I need help! Maybe you should do an eyelash tutorial!
Andi,
ReplyDeleteI agree! Red lips are it! I have to have red lips at all times! I have tried to wear other colors like fuchsia or coral but I always stick to red! My day does feel "right" without vintage red lips!
Hela!
ReplyDeleteYay! Another vote for lipstick!
Got to be red lipstick. I look so pale without it! After that, it would have to be black liquid liner - my eyes disappear if I haven't got it on.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely lippy. Foundation makes a big difference to my complexion (hides all the freckles/uneven skintone) and mascara really helps but I find most of the time I simply can't be bothered! Lipstick is always quick and easy to slick on though ;)
ReplyDeleteBTW I chose your lovely blog for an award on my blog :)
Mascara! I look weird without it and I slap on some tinted moisturizer and mascara at the bare minimum. I gave up on red lips a while ago - too high maintenance for me. I have a number of red lip glosses if I want to pull off that look without the fuss.
